Wen

Bachelor of Design Thesis Project (2025)

Overview:

Wen is a modular typographic and identity system built from repeatable 3D-stamped units. Designed to explore how structure and variation can shape visual language, the project translates conceptual research into practical identity components, i.e., patterns, layouts, and typographic forms that scale across applications. The work was recognised as a finalist for the Kudos Emerging Designer Awards.

Role:

As the designer, I developed the system logic, created and prototyped the 3D stamp tools, and applied the resulting letterforms into a publication and visual identity framework. I shaped the design rules, produced the visual assets, and ensured consistent behaviour across print and layout.

Outcome:

The project delivered a cohesive modular identity system that demonstrates typographic craft, systematic thinking, and cross-platform adaptability.

It produced a full publication showcasing the system’s applications, provided scalable assets for pattern and branding use, and gained recognition at the Kudos Emerging Designer Awards, reinforcing its technical and conceptual strength.
